COVID-19 Response

Supporting our Community

Through Covid-19

At Riverlife, we consider ourselves a family. Whether you are part of our regular family or a member of our wider community, we welcome you!

We want to be a family that reflects the generous and compassionate nature of God. We want to empower and resource you as ‘the church’ to walk with our community over the season, we will continue to update this page with resources and connection points to ensure you have one centralized place to either request assistance or offer support.

Now more than ever, we stand together with you and we declare the peace of God to be present in the midst of your circumstances today.

International Students

As we face these unprecedented challenges as a global community, our desire is that we might be able to practically support you at your time of need, encourage or pray with you and help you connect with other students and young adults to build your networks and enrich your time here in Australia.

Need Prayer?

Prayer is powerful, and it changes things! And testimony reminds us just how powerful prayer is. When we commit to praying, we draw near to the Father. If you or someone God has placed on your heart can be upheld in prayer, we would love to pray for you.

Share Your Testimony

The most important step, but the one many of us forget, is to go back and tell others of how God answered our prayers. We would love to hear how God answered prayers in His perfect timing. By doing so, we give our families and our community something to look back on and continue the legacy of faith.

These partners are keeping us informed of specific needs and prayer requests to which Riverlife will look to respond to as the needs become clearer and additional resources become available.

Is Riverlife able to help people who have found themselves unable to access Government assistance?
Riverlife is watching carefully and seeking to understand who is able to access Government support and who might still be in need, vulnerable or at high-risk. Riverlife has deep engagement with international students, those who are non-English speaking or who are without a support network. If you or someone you know is in this situation, please reach out to us via the Request Assistance Form. We will assess on a case-by-case basis.

How will Riverlife use funds raised for the COVID-19 Response?
Riverlife will apply funds raised in two specific ways:

COVID-19 Response REACHout will enable Riverlife to directly respond to Brisbane Community Needs as a result of the health crisis and economic hardship flow on effect. These responses will range from immediate crisis responses to responses required as our community emerges out of the period of social isolation restrictions. Riverlife is in close communication with our local, State and Federal Members of Parliament to coordinate response efforts now and going forward. Click here to visit our online giving portal

Riverlife has a dedicated pool of resources for assisting those who have found themselves ineligible for all of the range of financial support offered by the Federal and State Governments. Please let us know via the Request for Assistance form if you or someone you know is experiencing financial difficulty and is unable to access the support or assistance they need (this might include recently settled asylum seekers, newly arrived migrants, non-residents who find themselves still in Brisbane, or those not eligible for Medicare subsidies when accessing medical help) .

COVID-19 Response REACHbeyond will enable Riverlife to further resource our Overseas Partners respond to the COVID-19 Crisis in countries such as Lebanon, India, Thailand, Turkey, Borneo, Papua New Guinea, Mozambique, Uganda and Kenya. Click here to visit our online giving portal

These funds will be disbursed in keeping with Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission external conduct standards and reported against accordingly. Visit WWW.ACNC.GOV.AU for more details.
