20 years of blessings

We're celebrating Julia King's contribution to the Riverlife family!

Julia reflects on her time working on staff and how God continues to grow her...

Twenty years working at Riverlife (KBC when I started in 2003) sounds like a long time, but in reality, the years have flown by.

I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I knew God had called me to be part of the team. He had a plan for my skills in administration and desktop publishing and I have been able to use these every day to support the work of our pastors and ministries of the church.

As the years have passed, many things have changed in the office – now almost double the number of staff than when I started, new and more efficient ways of doing things, moving into our new facility (very exciting), seeing staff members come and go.

More importantly, I have seen God at work in my life as He has been growing and transforming me to become more like Him (still a way to go!). He has opened my eyes to realise that He can use me to impact others for His Kingdom, whether that means the beautiful children I look after in Kids Church, the leaders I look after, or the people I interact with in the community.

I feel privileged to continue to serve on staff and get to see the passion and excitement behind the ministries overseen by our staff. I love working alongside so many wonderful people and knowing I can call them my friends. I try not to take for granted the blessing of working in an office where my colleagues all follow Jesus’ Way and live out His teachings in their words and actions.

Riverlife has always been a church that honours God’s Word and teaches truth and life – for that I am so thankful.
