Let’s remember it is okay to have different reactions to what we have all been through that are perfectly normal.

The start to 2022 has really begun so differently to what we all were hoping.

The impact of COVID-19, the evolving events around the world and Ukraine, and the unexpected far-reaching impact of the flooding in Brisbane and across Australia has hit home for us all.

We will all have been impacted differently over the last few months by these events and we will all have different reactions – that are perfectly normal and to be expected – to what we have been through.

As we process and work through the last few months, here are some reminders as we recover.

1. Let’s remember it is okay to have different reactions to what we have all been through that are perfectly normal. Some of us will feel angry, sad or even flat. We will all feel different emotions that are completely normal.

2. As we work through the impact, it is important to be kind to yourself. Take time each day to care for yourself. It can be easy to put ourselves last, but we all need time to invest in taking care of ourselves to help us recover.

3. If we feel like we could use some more support, feel free to reach out to your GP, a Psychologist or counsellor to help you through this season.
