This is a look at just an ‘ordinary’ Street Teams day, although we know it’s never actually ordinary.

Last Saturday, 20 April, started with a very yummy BBQ breakfast, coffee and team building in our café.  We then had three teams complete work in our community: one was a recipient who we have assisted in a variety of ways since the Feb 2022 floods.  The other two recipients were first time contacts with neighbours of Riverlife members.  How good is that?!  Blessing a family over two years and empowering two neighbourhood contacts through referral.

The Teams did an awesome practical job in all three locations with grass cut, driveway and patio water blasted, hedges trimmed, edges cut, vines removed, trees trimmed, weeds pulled, and rubbish removed and transported to the tip.

As you know, Street Teams is more than just very valuable and much needed practical assistance.  It can also be about connecting, relieving loneliness, relationship building, empowering deeper conversations, serving together, teamwork, and learning ministry skills.

We praise God for the interconnection with one team invited in for morning tea, a Riverlife neighbour receiving a renewed invitation to meet, a neighbour sharing prolonged morning tea and deep discussion, all recipients receiving prayer and a note of gratitude which reads: ‘ The team are just earth angels. The yard looks amazing, I can see the sky. I feel I can breath.  Thank you’

Being in our community together through Street Teams is such a blessing to the volunteers and the recipients.
