I am married to Max and we have two wonderful adult children (plus their partners) – Michelle (Zac) and Stephen (Vanessa). I am so privileged to be Nan to three amazing grandsons and one beautiful granddaughter. Our family spent four years on mission with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea when the children were much younger, and this experience has played a big part in shaping my life. I also have a passion for serving in Kids Ministry and have been involved in this area for longer than I probably care to admit! Thankfully, the children I teach at Kids Church don’t seem to mind having a grandma on the team even though I might not have the same energy I used to have! God has blessed me and been faithful throughout my life and I give Him all honour and praise.

A number of years ago, I was struggling with events happening in my life. As usual, I told God I trusted Him but kept trying to cope on my own and make things better in my own strength. One minute I would hand God the problem and next, I was taking it back thinking I could do it faster or better! It was only when I went through a time of illness and had lots of hours to spend with Him, that I understood more about what trusting Him really meant and it certainly didn’t involve me being the boss in my relationship with Him! Whilst I did not enjoy the time of enforced rest, God taught me so much about Himself and about me too – it was a time of surrender to Him and acknowledging that His ways and His plans for my life are always best.

Being part of the Riverlife staff team is a privilege and blessing and I love that God can use my skills to assist the pastors and ministry areas to get their job done efficiently and effectively. It is great working with the other members of the Admin Team – we all have different skillsets that fit so well together to get the jobs done. Really, why would I want to work anywhere else?
