A bit about Me
In what feels like another lifetime, I once worked on projects all around the world as either an administrator, project manager, analyst or consultant in manufacturing, healthcare, mining, banking, economics and government. Most recently, God activated my heart over my mind and prompted me in a completely different direction towards school chaplaincy at a local primary school. It's been quite a journey so far! I believe that God always places me in the right place, at the right time and with my current passion for community, families, neurodiversity and creating places to belong, I am excited to see what He has planned for my current season at Riverlife.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children, playing games, watching movies, tasting new cuisines and learning new hobbies (much to my husband’s dismay). I have invested much time and resources into having everything I need to be an expert crocheter, puzzler, painter, pianist, baker and even Thermomix-er to name just a few. However, all my hobbies are still works in progress and I’m not quite an expert in any yet.
Most Defining Moment
There have been so many defining moments, but the one that comes to mind now involves identity. Having spent my life between cultures, I always struggled with my identity, desperately trying to fit in and to be good enough. I worked hard to achieve as much as I could to fill that void, but no matter what I did, it wasn’t enough and I was left burnt out and lost over and over again. It was during yet another cycle of burning out that God revealed himself to me during a powerful worship time at Riverlife. Immediately afterwards, I saw an ad for school chaplaincy in the Riverlife News and two weeks after that, I transformed from an economist to a chaplain. By working in His strength, for His kingdom, I saw so many miraculous things that I could not have possibly envisioned or planned myself. For the first time in my life, I could see how every experience I had was for His Kingdom and I was not a failure for moving, questioning and changing so often. I had found my identity in Christ and life was forever changed.
Why I do it
Even before I knew Him, God was ever present in my life. Through His provision and gentle guiding, all I have, all I know and all I am is thanks to Him so it is a blessing to serve in any way He calls. I place my faith in Him and will continue to say, “Yes!” to wherever He places me.
