Membership in a church is a covenant with a local body of believers, rooted in the biblical idea of being baptised into ‘one body’ (Ephesians 4). Unlike the transient nature of modern life, the New Testament church was deeply embedded in its community, fostering multigenerational connections. Membership in a church represents a commitment to a spiritual family where individuals invest their time, resources, and legacy.
In essence, church membership is a tangible way to live out the biblical call to invest deeply in the local church community, fostering relationships that last through generations and seasons of life. Each one of us brings our own unique gifts and experience to the table and yet in Christ, we are all of one heart and one mind.
