Romans 6: Alive To God
Scripture anchor: Romans 6:1–14; 6:15–23
Pastor Jo explores Romans 6 to tackle the question left hanging by chapter 5: if grace increases where sin increases, should we keep sinning? Paul answers with a firm no, using baptism to show that going under the water pictures death to the old self while coming up pictures new life in Christ, so sin no longer holds dominion over us. He then shifts the metaphor to slavery, showing that we've simply changed masters, from sin to righteousness, with the wages of sin being death but the free gift of God being eternal life in Christ Jesus.
